Dinner at the Nordstrom’s Café with Toni and Leslee

Toni got a gift card for Nordstrom’s from colleague for Xmas.  She took us out to dinner at the Nordstrom Café before the meeting tonight.  The N. Café is one of the best dining values in Bellevue.  I had a delicious salmon filet with lots of grilled veggies for $12.  Lea had the Chinese chicken salad, Leslee had the grilled breaded chicken salad and Toni had a skirt steak.  All are less than $12 and delicious.  The café is a quiet place to dine on Sunday nights and very close to the meeting.  It works out really well on a variety of levels.

Before dinner, I bought a red hoodie from Penny’s to go with last Tuesday’s black hoodie.  While the cashier was in a bad mood, Lea and I had a good time with a burst of retail therapy and got a great price for a hoodie and three shirts.

Last night’s snow stuck around all day on the grass.  The sidewalk snow turned the slush in the afternoon and was clear by the time we left at 5 PM.  It was a nice snow day to read, watch TV, and hang around the apartment that cleared up by the time we needed to leave.  Perfect timing.

I am grateful that I live very close to downtown Bellevue and my driving destinations.  It is extremely convenient.  My apartment driveway is level to my front door.  That is a HUGE convenience for a wheelchair user to pack stuff in and out.  It is wonderful to have good friends to celebrate life with.  I really like Toni and Leslee.  Now I have a bright red hoodie—soon I will be a colorful dresser!

  1. In Vancouver Washington next January 2015 the store will close, oh, my goodness sakes, their lunches and dinners are a real bargain and lovely..So we won't be able to have such good meals as you described ever again, the Westfield Mall is changing and so is Nordstroms, Bellevue has more customers than they really had at this mall, although it was the big anchor when it opened in 1977...but now almost 38 years later it will close because to re-do it completely would not generate the money they need to stay profitable..Glad you got the hoodies, I got some nice towels for little to nothing just before a big snow storm here on Thursday the 6th of February, it started to come down in droves and has never ever stopped, jammed up schools, work, etc..quiet though..I applaud your many efforts to help others in AA and the meetings you actually go to and speak, etc..It must be nice to live in a city that really is bopping cause Vancouver is starting to get really down and out with unemployed, mentally ill and addicts with no place to get any help, health and homeless, used to be a lovely place back in the day in 1978 when one could get a home most reasonalbly and schools were great now not so much, many come from Oregon and are homeless and addicted and neading food help and they don't vote at all..We are stuck retired and own our tiny tiny home, the high schools are gonna get crazy with the marijuana issues that passed and we live right by a high school, it is horrible to think that the issue of marijuana will impact young people so much but it will, now for alcohol and heroin addiction, there does need to be more funding for help in this sector diseases to me just like heart, cancer, etc.but it seems to fall upon deaf ears all the way around! Continued sobriety and enjoy your new clothing purchases one can not ever have tooo many sweatshirts of any kind.ciao!
