In his study of self-actualizers, the paragons of mental wellness, the
famed humanistic psychologist Abraham Maslow noted that “the most important
learning lessons... were tragedies, deaths, and trauma... which forced change
in the life-outlook of the person and consequently in everything that he did.””
Had another small setback with the graft healing yesterday. A small wound opened at the top of the
graft. Hopefully that will heal
relatively soon. It was presumably
caused by rubbing on my shoe or by placing my ankle on my knee while dressing.
I am grateful for all the obstacles to force change in my life. I am a better person than I used to be.
