Today is the unofficial start of summer—the Saturday of Memorial Day
Weekend. Memorial Day is a day of
remembering the men and women who died while serving in the US Armed Forces.
Life in our democracy with stable changes in leadership and currency
are two of the many great outcomes from our service members who paid the
ultimate price for freedom. As noted by
Churchill, democracy is the worst form of government—except for all those others.
I am grateful for my relatively plush life that is direct result of the
sacrifices made by our fallen warriors.
