Been working
up to a rant about the following for years so here you go. Certain members at meetings will say “AA is
for those that want it, not those that need it.” For me, that is complete BS. I have yet to see an alcoholic get and stay sober
by “wanting it”. AA is a program of
action for those that do it.
If people with alcohol addiction don't go to AA meetings they just do whatever they want in life and go back to drinking and other things that are not nice in our society..The situation comedy on tv called MOM is not helping much, I watch it and the way the Mom and the Daughter interact at AA meetings doesn't seem to help much for those suffering a lot from alcohol and drug addiction, sure it looks funny but to me in my opinion there is nothing COMEDIC ABOUT ALCOHOLISM...to just never drink must be a hell on earth to many people addicted those meetings in my opinion are absolutely necessary to keep sober one day at a time, I applaud your ability to keep on the good fight and help others to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
